Clear scope and safety boundaries

Project Suitability

Every enquiry is reviewed before work is accepted. A model being possible to draw does not mean the proposed part, system or use is suitable, safe or legally compliant.

Initial screening

Three project-suitability routes.

These categories guide the first review; they are not certification or approval.

General enquiry

Usually suitable to assess

Non-safety-critical sketch-to-CAD, drawing conversion, concept layouts, housings, adapters, workshop aids, display items and similar low-risk design work with a clear intended use.

Detailed review required

Needs more evidence

Load-bearing parts, vehicle or drone applications, heat, pressure, electrical equipment, public use, demanding tolerances, third-party intellectual property or work needing traceability, calculations or standards.

Not accepted by default

Safety-critical or regulated

Life-safety, medical, flight-critical, weapons, pressure-vessel, lifting, braking, steering, structural sign-off, mains installation, functional-safety, certification or other work outside demonstrated competence and insurance.

Information needed

Help us understand the real use.

Purpose

What the item must do, who will use it and what could happen if it fails.

Loads & environment

Forces, vibration, temperature, weather, chemicals, wear, duty cycle and expected life where relevant.

Interfaces

Key dimensions, mating parts, fixings, clearances, power or control interfaces and existing standards.

Source authority

Confirmation that you may share the supplied files, photographs and drawings and request the proposed work.

Required output

Concept, CAD model, conversion, technical drawing, prototype information or manufacturing-route assessment.

Review evidence

Any calculations, tests, approvals, inspection or specialist sign-off the application genuinely requires.

Specific boundaries
